FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act)
A 1938 US law requiring anyone carrying out political activity on behalf of a foreign government or entity to register and publicly disclose that activity.
According to the US Department of Justice, its central purpose is transparency about foreign influence; it does not limit the content of speech, and filings are public.
